The Raven
This is a crow that was making quite a racket on my balcony. I was able to capture this image from my front door.
Crows get a bad rap. Despite being considered undesirable creatures, crows are among the most intelligent animals on the planet with an encephalization quotient approaching that of some apes. The cognitive region of the brains of the Jackdaw and European Magpie have been found to be roughly the same relative size as the chimpanzee and human. Recent research has found that crows are capable of not only tool use but tool creation.
